A network of GP practices covering Haltemprice areas is to start offering the COVID vaccination to their most at risk and vulnerable patients this week.
The Harthill Primary Care Network (PCN) will start to administer the vaccine over the coming days. This network is made up from eight GP practices, covering a wide area including Anlaby, Cottingham, Hessle and Willerby.
Because of the storage and transportation requirements of the vaccination, the practices must administer them all from one designated location. Patients over the age of 80 with the greatest clinical risk are being offered appointments first.
Patients will be contacted to arrange an appointment for their vaccination and do not need to do anything until they are contacted.
The order in which patients are prioritised for the vaccinations has been determined by the Joint Committee of Vaccinations and Immunisation (JCVI) as they are at the greatest risk from COVID-19.
