Bridlington Primary Care Network held second drop-in event to reassure residents of changes to GP Practices

MEDIA RELEASE

20 January 2023

Changes to general practice in Bridlington will see three GP Practices; Field House Surgery; Practice One and Wolds View cease to operate from 31 March, with all patients transferred over to Drs Reddy & Nunn.

On Thursday 19th January, Bridlington Primary Care Network hosted a second successful drop-in event giving residents the opportunity to come along, ask questions and to reassure those who are worried, how the creation of two larger practices will be of benefit to the town.

Dr Priya Reddy, Bridlington Primary Care Network (PCN) Clinical Director and Partner at Drs Reddy & Nunn said: “Thank you to everyone who came to see us last night. It was a very positive event and I hope people went home with a better understanding of why we are making these changes and feel encouraged that the changes will help to improve services.

“GP Practices are experiencing severe pressure like never before. Staff in practices are working incredibly hard every single day to give our patients the best possible care. While demand for services is so high it is crucial that people can continue to get access to care and treatment from their local general practice.
“The aim of the event was to reassure residents that the changes to general practice in Bridlington will help to bring stability to the remaining two practices in the local area. Larger practices will allow us to grow our teams and offer greater support to our patients.”

Information about the changes continues to be available online at Improving primary care services in Bridlington — East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (eastridingofyorkshireccg.nhs.uk).
