As a CCG, we have signed up to the Disability Confident Scheme which aims to help employers make the most of the opportunities provided by employing disabled people.
It is voluntary to join and has been developed by employers and disabled people’s representatives. The Disability Confident scheme has 3 levels and as a CCG, we are currently at Level 2 meaning we are now a ‘Disability Confident Employer’. We are now working towards Level 3 to become a ‘Disability Confident Leader’.
Through becoming Disability Confident, we are:
- Challenging attitudes towards disability.
- Increasing understanding of disability.
- Removing barriers to disabled people and those with long-term health conditions.
- Ensuring that disabled people have the opportunities to fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
