URGENT EQUIPMENT REQUIRED DUE TO COVID-19
People in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire are being encouraged to return beds, mattresses and commodes as part of the ‘Hand it Back’ campaign.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic NRS Healthcare are asking patients to return any large items of equipment which have been borrowed, but which are no longer in use; in particular beds, mattresses and commodes.
Sally Smith, Clinical Commissioning Lead for East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) said: “it is really important that we support NRS Healthcare in collecting large items of equipment during the coronavirus pandemic.”
“We want to help ensure that we can help those patients who need equipment have access to it in what is a very challenging time.”
Patients who have borrowed smaller items of equipment are asked to hold on to these for the time being.
Debbie Parker, Clinical Commissioning Officer for Equipment and Wheelchairs at Hull CCG added: “Please make sure that any items you are returning have an NRS sticker, including a barcode, on them. It will help us verify the items of equipment are safe and fit for purpose for the next patient.”
All items returned to NRS Healthcare undergo thorough cleaning and testing prior to being loaned to the next patient. NRS Healthcare will schedule the collections from service users and communicate with the service users direct.
Patients, family members, carers and friends can arrange a collection of equipment by contacting NRS Healthcare on 03448 936 375 between 8:30am – 4:30pm Monday to Friday or email email@example.com.
